Podcasting for Fun or Business

Podcasting for Fun or Business

One of the new things I am now doing in addition to graphic and website design is I have now become a podcaster and I show people how to do it to promote their business or organization.

I interview people from all walk of life on many subjects.

I have also found podcasting a great way of promoting a business or organizations.

StreamYard as the platform I use to record the podcast and then it uploads the podcast to YouTube.

Once in YouTube, I make different channels so people can find past podcasts depending on the guest or subject matter.

I can also have it upload to any other social media platform if I wish. YouTube is all I am using at the moment.

I can then go into YouTube and fill in all the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) with title, description, hashtags # and contact information.

YouTube is owned by Google, who invented SEO, so in only stands to reason that SEO would be a big deal in YouTube.

With the right SEO on your YouTube videos they will show up in Google search engines independently of your website or images.

You can then post the YouTube video link to any social media that you want.

It’s a great way of reaching a local or world wide audience.

I enjoy interviewing people on many different types of podcast.

Learning many new things is a fringe benefit of podcasting.

I first have people write a short blog about who they are and what the subject is or have them send a bull-it point of questions to ask them in a Word doc.

The podcast usually last for one hour and sometimes they are shorter depending on the subject matter.

I interview some people on a monthly basses because they have things of interest to the world in general. Some of these people are:

1.) Zita’s Healthy Beginnings. Zita runs a non-profit organization for mothers and babies in Nigeria, Africa.

2.) Justin Tarr, who is my grandson who has a degree in theology and writes for a Christian apologetic website. Two Measures Foolish

3.) Alan Tai, who is a scientist who wrote a book called A Physicist Perspective on God. Science and Life

4.) Rhonda Brown, who is a Christian poet and has published a book on poetry. She called herself the Poet Monk.

5.) Jaws Coffee Chat, who is run by Jennifer A. Whitaker. She is the first organization I did podcast with so you can go to her website and she other podcast I have done with them.

I have done many podcasts with many people but these five will get you in the ballpark of what I do.

I also designed the website for all five of these organizations.

Connecting a podcast to your organization or website is also something I do.

Contact me if you have any questions on graphic art, website design or podcasting.

Does Social Media Drive Traffic to Your Website?

When you talk about Digital Marketing one of the things comes to mind right off the bat is social media even though it is a broad field, including attracting customers via email, content marketing, search platforms as well as social media.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram and others are what are considered the larger term of social media. This is what we will concentrate on this blog.

Like I say on our Social Media page…

“Your website is your store front to the world and your blog is the hub of how you communicate to that world.”

“Social media is the Electronic Word of Mouth that helps you connect to that world. All three have a very important part to play to promote You, Your Business, Church or Non-profit Organization.”

Does Social Media Drive Traffic to Your Website?

Look at social media as your word-of-mouth.

Your social networking will allow you to interact with others and build relationships and help people become familiar with products you and your business has to offer.

Many people confuse social media as being just that… social or a place to connect for family and friends but when it comes to business it becomes something entirely different.

Setting up different social media accounts should be strictly business oriented using the name of your business.

Each one of these platforms are set up differently and so is the way you attract or find potential customers to like your pages or boards.

Which one is best for you?

That depends on many factors that you will have to analyze for yourself and your Brand.

All social media’s attract different types of people and it may take time to figure out which ones are best for you and your business.

Go here for 7 top social media sites and how they will work for you.

After analyzing the recommendations that that article had listed a word of warning. Do not set them all up at once.

Pick one out that best fits your business at first.

Connect to it and then build a following.

Building that following and add posts as you go along.

Give it two weeks until you feel comfortable and make sure you interact from time to time.

After a period of time select a second and a third social media going through the same procedure.

On your website make sure you have installed social media icons that will connect from your website to that social media.

Be sure to blog on your website.

Blogging is important for a number of reasons.

1.)  It gives you a chance to establish credibility with potential customers. You can go into more detail on the services you offer.

2.) Blogs should have good titles and SEO. If it is done correctly that blog will reach just as much as your website pages on Google, Bing and Yahoo search engines.

3.) You can share your blog on your social media. Be sure to have a strong featured image on the blog because that photo will follow your blog everywhere on social media.

I wrote an article on Things to Know When Writing and Publishing a Blog that may help you.

Do not forget about hash tags ###

Hash tags start with the pound symbol or #

Hash tags allow your posts and blogs to get more traction and get In front of people that are looking for your service.

They are a great marketing tool if done right and only takes a minute to add to a post.

Idesign websites for individual people, organizations and companies. One of the things I tell people is you can have the best-looking website on the internet but if you are not attracting new people to it then what’s the point. The whole idea is to bring in new prospective clients or viewers.

How do you do this? Two main ways. Digital marketing and SEO. This article is how to use digital marketing in the form of one particular social media called YouTube. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube are all different types and each one of those social media platforms have their own unique way of attracting new followers.

I try to guide people on what social media might be best for their business and I try not to limit their options because each one has their own following. Many times, I recommend that they try three or four different ones.

YouTube is in a class by itself and one social media that I wanted to know more about… only it’s not really a social media in the traditional sense. It is really a search engine that lets people use videos to help promote their businesses or idea’s.

I have a friend by the name of Sheri that teaches people how to use this amazing platform and she invited me and about 100 people to spend a Saturday in January with her at something called a YouTube Bootcamp.

What is so great about YouTube and how can it help me promote what I do?

Sheri not only taught us how to set up your own YouTube channel but how to upload your own video’s and how to promote them right inside of your very own channel.

We found out that YouTube is owned by Google so all the SEO (search engine optimization) that you use on Goggle you will use on YouTube so your videos can be found on line.

Graphic Design That Grabs Your Attention

Graphic Design That Grabs Your Attention

Graphic Design That Grabs Your Attention

This was a three generation photo I took of me with my son and grandson.

Photographing or Designing something that grabs someone’s attention has always been and is my goal.

All the graphics on this article were also photographed by me.

I was a photographer for 40+ years but at the age of 58 I went back to school for a graphic arts degree.

I soon learned how to design and build WordPress web sites because I realized right away web sites were the best way to show off my work

I found I was very good at web design especially when I combined my graphic skills with web work.

Match made in heaven so to speak.

Do I only use my photography on the graphics that I make? NO!

I will many times use a photo stock agency if I need something specific either for a logo design, website layout, printed material such as a newsletter or social media graphics.

Graphic Design That Grabs Your Attention

My wife enjoys having time with each grandchild and getting to know them. This was a photograph I turned into a painting in Photoshop.

I found that by combining photographs or graphics with text was a very powerful tool to get a message across fast. This is graphic design that grabs your attention!

People do not read so much anymore because we are bombarded with so much information that if they can see something with text and visuals that is short, clear and concise it will hold our attention far longer and look more inviting.

The image on the right was a photograph I took of my grandson and his girl friend on the 4th of July.

Graphic Design That Grabs Your Attention

The graphics on this page were made for social media. Some graphics are religious in nature and some are funny and others have just a positive bent to them.

I get my inspiration not only from the Bible but also great thinkers that said amazing quotes like Mark Twain and CS Lewis. I sometimes find a photograph and look for a quote to match or I run across a quote and hunt down an image that ties it all together.

Some are fast and others are amazingly slow to design. I want the message to be just right.

8 Tips to Grow Your Business Using Social Media

In today’s market, harnessing the power of social media is a must if you want to grow your business and grow your brand. Here are 8 tips to Grow Your Business Using Social Media

From myInstagram posts to my Twitter announcements, I have found that there is no end to the new opportunities that a carefully managed social media campaign can bring.

With this in mind, any entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur who has yet to try out the power of social media needs to start working on creating a stronger online presence.

It’s something that I have seen bring great value to my own business and great value to others I have worked with in the market.

8 Tips to Grow Your Business Using Social Media is a Blog Post by Best Website.Solutions

Through my experience, here are eight of the top tips that I have found can help any entrepreneur looking to expand their social media presence and their business.

1. Be Consistent

When it comes to your posts, your message and how frequently you use social media, keep consistency in mind.

It is truly the key to success with any social media campaign.

Make a plan for what you’re going to post and how often you’re going to post, and stick with it.

This should ideally be a few times a day or a week, depending on your goals and your following.

You can’t go from posting once a month to five times a day and then back and expect to have an engaged following.

Social Media is your word-of-mouth in todays world. Connecting it to your website your blog post will be your mouth piece to promote your product or what you do.

2. Use all social networks.

You may have a social network that you prefer over others, but it doesn’t mean that all of your followers feel that way.

If you want to be successful with social media, then you need to post across all networks.

This means having and maintaining an account with all of the big social media sites, including Twitter,

LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

3. Format content to optimize for each platform.

Maintaining accounts across all of the major social media platforms doesn’t mean posting the same thing on four different sites every day. It means formatting content specifically meant for each platform.

You need photos for Instagram, long posts for LinkedIn, videos and memes for Facebook and short and snappy announcements for Twitter. All of your posts should be different, even if they are delivering the same message.

4. Push on those networks that really work well.

There are some networks that are going to work better for you than others. When you find that network that really works for your specific type of business and your specific type of customer, then you need to really push on that network and take advantage of the opportunity.

5. Make sure that your content aligns with your message.

When it comes to building a strong social media presence, getting likes and follows is great. However, it’s about more than just the number of responses each of your posts get. You may be tempted to deliver a post that simply gets a lot of attention, but that will do nothing for your brand if you don’t make sure that the content aligns with your message. Everything needs to fit within your brand identity and promote what it is that you’re trying to say to the world.
